AFC Leopards will entertain a struggling Chemelil Sugar side at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos as they look to win a third successive league match. Chemelil have lost their last two second leg matches. AFC Leopards fans are expected to turn out in large numbers for the match.
Chemelil head into this game with an almost new squad after losing nearly all their key players the latest being Faraj Ominde who joined Tusker. They have signed around ten players but without money, the players are still demotivated.
Leopards on the other hand are boosted by their win over Sofapaka on Wednesday and they will want to pick another win against a struggling Chemelil Sugar side.
Key players
Brian Marita and Jeffari Owiti were on good form against Sofapaka and they will be key against Chemelil. Owiti is a former Chemelil Sugar player. In midfield captain Duncan Otieno will return to the team after national team assignment in India. At the back assistant captain Robinson Kamura will also be an important player for Ingwe.
For Chemelil, new striker Zeka Wakoli will be looking for his first league and he is a player who can trouble Leopards. Winger Felix Olouch is also another key player for Chemelil and so is captain and midfielder Edwin Omondi who will be looking to stop Leopards attack from his defensice midfield position.
Team news
AFC Leopards will welcome back captain Duncan Otieno and defender Mike Kibwage who were away with the national team. Striker Ezekiel Odera will also return from suspension while fit again left-back Isaac Oduro is expected to start the match. Defender Moses Mburu got injured against Sofapaka and is expected to miss the game against Chemelil. Chemelil on the other hand have all their players available, they do not have any injury concern as of now.
Pitch/Distance
Machakos Stadium is currently in good shape after the rains stopped. The pitch is located around 400 kilometers from Chemelil base and 60 kilometers from Leopards base.

AFC Leopards plays quick attacking football while Chemelil new coach Charles Odero has transformed the team into a defensive one.

“We want to continue winning games, we should maintain that momentum so that we can move to a better position in the table. They boys are playing really good and that’s the most important thing,” Leopards coach Zapata Rodolfo said.
“Leopards is a big team and definitely they are favorites. I also have a young new team and we are trying to gel in order to start performing well. I know it will be a difficult game but we have to do our best, we will fight to get a good result,” Chemelil coach Charles Odero said.
