Mathare United vs Wazito

Recap

Mathare United will entertain bottom placed Kenyan Premier League side, Wazito FC in what will be the first match of the weekend at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
Both teams lost their last matches; Mathare United went down to Sofapaka while Wazito’s misery was compounded by Vihiga United at their Camp Toyoyo Grounds. Wazito defeated Mathare United 1-0 in the first leg, the scorer of the lone goal Piston Mutamba has since left the club.
Key players
Clifford Alwanga and Cliff Nyakeya will be looking to end their goal-drought against Wazito and they will be key for Mathare. Francis Omondi and Alphonse Ndonye will be vital in midfield. Wazito on the other have strikers Edwin Lavatsa Derrick Onyango both are former Mathare United players and they will be keen on beating their former club.
Team News
Both teams have no suspension or injury concern although Mathare United coach Francis Kimanzi could make changes after last weekend loss to Sofapaka a match he said his team defended badly. “We defended badly, we gave Sofapaka very easy goals and we have to do better. At KPL level we cannot afford to defend the way we did against Sofapaka,” Kimanzi said.
Distance/Pitch
Both teams are located 60 Kilometers from Machakos Stadium and they will travel to the match venue on Saturday morning. The pitch is currently in good shape due to reduction in rains level.
Style of play
Kimanzi’s Mathare United love to attack. They play quick attacking football which sometimes exposes their defense. Wazito on the other hand plays very defensive football.
Offside news
Wazito is reportedly on the verge of being sold to a Dubai businessman who is expected to inject money in the struggling Kenyan Premier League side.
The match will be live on KPL Facebook page starting from 2 PM.
