Roger Federer’s unexpected loss in the second round of Miami Masters.
The Swiss failed 1-2 with sets (6-3, 3-6, 6-7) in the face of Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis and will miss the first place in the overall rankings, where Rafael Nadal will return.
Federer easily won the first set with a 6-3 result, not missing a “game” in 35 minutes of play, but physically fell to the next two sets, perhaps due to the fatigue of participation in Indian Wells, where he lost to the finals.
Kokkinakis won the 3-6 second set, while in the final, Federer surrendered to tie break. Federer is disappointed with Miami’s masters, failing to defend the title earned a year ago.
