USTA – United States Tennis Association, the grand open slam organizer of the US Open, is scheduled to kick off today in New York, suggesting that this year’s edition will distribute $ 53 million to the participants, a record figure for the tournament.
Organizers note that the amount has increased by 6% compared to the previous year (50.4 million), making the tournament very attractive for the various sponsors who have decided to invest. Which means that the prizes that the tennis players will receive for each round is bigger than the ones. This is the first time that a grand slam manages to distribute so many prizes for participating tennis players, enabling the competition of other big tournaments.
Here’s the prize that the tennis players will receive in rounds
The winner, $3.8m
Finalist, $1.85m
Semifinalists, $925k
The quarterfinals, $475k
Round 4, $266k
Round 3, $156k
Round 2, $93k
Round 1, $54k
