Saul Niguez, Diego Costa and Koke left their mark as Atletico Madrid took a 3-0 home win against Lokomotiv Moscow.

The two-times Europa League champions were not at their best in this game, but still managed to get a convincing win.

Saul gave Atletico the lead after a nice long-range drive in the first half at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Later Diego Costa took profit after a great save from Guilherme that denied a goal to Antoine Griezmann, scoring thus the second goal for Atletico. In the end Koke gave the goal that puts the team from Madrid in comfortable situation for the 2-nd leg.

Russian Premier League leaders will hope they can battle their way back into the tie on home soil in the second leg, but their chances seem to be really slim.

Atletico may have been dealt a blow in the LaLiga title race with a 1-0 defeat at Barcelona on Sunday, but they will be hard to stop as they hunt a record-equalling third Europa League title.
