Ostapenko plays doubles in Indian Wells

Jelena Ostapenko is taking part in both singles and doubles at the BNP Paribas Open, which could be very beneficial to her as any player who wins in both draws takes a $1 million bonus plus the prize money.

On Thursday, Ostapenko will pair up with Anastasija Sevastova to face Hao-Ching Chan and Latisha Chan. She didn’t know before about the new rule introduced in this tournament, but she looked quite happy about this.

The world No. 6 also commented on the upcoming Serena Williams’s comeback saying that when she was growing up she used to watch almost every match of her and that she was glad seeing Serena compete again. Ostapenko also spoke about the feeling of being a Grand Slam champion, which she said was the reason what she worked for.
